Film Screens: 7:30PM

On December 3, kick off a month of merriment with a special outdoor screening of the the hilarious and heartwarming Holiday classic Elf!

“Son of a nutcracker!”  Everybody’s favorite Christmas elf Buddy is making his way to the rooftop of a Downtown Santa Ana parking lot!   Elf is the beloved story of an orphaned baby boy who is somehow misplaced in Santa’s workshop.  Raised by elves as one of their own, and christened with an appropriately cheery name, Buddy (Will Ferrell) soon sizes up some of the glaring differences between he had his fellow elves (the height differential, for one…) and realizes he is actually a human being. Determined to find out where he came from, he travels to New York City to find his father – who he soon finds out has earned his place on the naughty list!  Get ready for a heartwarming and hilarious story that will fill you with Christmas cheer, Christmas carols – and lots of syrup!

Please bring a toy to donate to TKO Boxing Club, a Santa Ana-based non-profit dedicated to offering at-risk youth with a safe space alternative to gangs, “training tomorrow’s champions today!”

Our Frida on the Roof screenings are FREE and fun for all ages!  Parking at the structure is also free on Sundays! Starting at 5:30pm, take the elevator or stairs up to the 4th Floor Rooftop of the parking lot located at 457 N Spurgeon St. – accessible off Spurgeon Street between 4th and 5th Streets – get comfy, grab some food at one of our local restaurants, swing by The Frida for your popcorn, candy, and soda needs, then watch Elf at 7:30pm!

Bring a blanket, towel, LOW-BACK chair, or anything else you need to get comfy and enjoy a movie under the stars! Picnic baskets welcome, though neighboring Wursthaus, 4th Street Market, Taquerias Guadalajara, El Mercado, Diego’s Rock N’ Roll Bar & Eats, and so many other great restaurants will be open to get your food needs handled! And again, The Frida Cinema is a hop downstairs for your concessions needs!

Alcohol is prohibited at the Parking Structure. Pets MUST be kept on a leash at all times. Smoking section available behind the audience, on the west end of the parking lot rooftop. Please be courteous and, if you are planning to bring chairs, bring LOW-BACK chairs so as to not block the folks behind you.

You can park in the same structure the movie’s in! We’re just closing off the top floor for our film, but floors 1 – 3 will be open, as will the 4-story structure on the west side of the lot! Parking is FREE on Sundays!

“Ferrell is a hoot. So is much of this witty holiday family entertainment, which – up until the end, when the “true spirit of Christmas” must be reaffirmed –  happily favors slapstick over treacle.” – David Ansen, Newsweek

“A disarmingly funny holiday comedy.” – Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly

“Families have discovered how funny and how well this little film tells its King-sized holiday message: the only size that counts is how big your heart is.” – Joel Siegel, Good Morning America
