Find out Sunday, September 24 when our free outdoor screening series Frida on the Roof! returns to the 5th & Spurgeon Parking Structure – directly behind The Frida! – with 1986’s LABYRINTH!
Parking at the structure is also FREE on Sundays! Starting at 6:30pm, take the elevator or stairs up to the 4th Floor Rooftop of the parking lot located at 301 E. 5th Street – accessible off Spurgeon Street between 4th and 5th Streets – get comfy, grab some food at one of our local restaurants, swing by The Frida for your popcorn, candy, and soda needs, then watch Bowie strut his stuff as the Goblin King starting at 8:30pm!
WHAT TO BRING
Bring a blanket, towel, LOW-BACK chair, or anything else you need to get comfy and enjoy a movie under the stars! Picnic baskets welcome, though neighboring Wursthaus, 4th Street Market, Taquerias Guadalajara, El Mercado, Diego’s Rock N’ Roll Bar & Eats, and so many other great restaurants will be open to get your food needs handled! And again, The Frida Cinema is a hop downstairs for your concessions needs!
WHAT NOT TO BRING
Alcohol is prohibited at the Parking Structure. Pets MUST be kept on a leash at all times. Smoking section available behind the audience, on the west end of the parking lot rooftop. Please be courteous and, if you are planning to bring chairs, bring LOW-BACK chairs so as to not block the folks behind you.
WHERE TO PARK
You can park in the same structure the movie’s in! We’re just closing off the top floor for our film, but floors 1 – 3 will be open, as will the 4-story structure on the west side of the lot! Parking is FREE on Sundays! For more info on the Parking Structure, visit http://thefridacinema.org/parking-at-the-frida-cinema/.
WHAT’S THE MOVIE ABOUT?
Innocently reenacting a scene from one of her fantasy novels, fifteen-year-old Sarah wishes her baby brother Toby away to the Goblin King Jareth. Little does she know that Jareth (Bowie in his iconic performance) is all to real, and when he kidnaps little Toby, Sarah has thirteen hours to enter his kingdom and solve his perplexing labyrinth before Toby disappears forever! Fortunately, Sarah meets many furry and humorous fantasy creatures to help her along her way – but will they make it in time??
