By popular demand, and with gratitude to Sony Pictures Repertory, we are excited to offer those of you who missed last weekend’s amazing Starship Frida sci-fi marathon the opportunity to experience Sony’s 4K Restoration of Luc Besson’s 1997 sci-fi extravaganza, The Fifth Element!
A kaleidoscope of eye-boggling, award-winning special effects, thrilling action, dazzling costumes (by famed designer Jean Paul Gaultier), and zany madcap comedy, The Fifth Element finds 23rd Century New York City cabbie Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis) in the middle of an intergalactic, eons-old battle between good and evil when the beautiful Leeloo (Milla Jovovich) literally falls into his cab. As the living embodiment of the “Fifth Element,” Leeloo needs to combine with the other four to keep the approaching Great Evil from destroying the world. Together with Father Vito Cornelius (Ian Holm) and zany broadcaster Ruby Rhod (Chris Tucker), Dallas and Leelo must race against time and the wicked industrialist Zorg (Gary Oldman, chewing scenery with gusto) to save humanity.
Thursday, May 10 – 2pm, 5pm, 7:30pm
