A cavalcade of music icons including Debbie Harry, Billie Joe Armstrong, Kathleen Hanna, and Rodney Bingenheimer lend their voices and stories in celebration of rock pioneer Joan Jett in Bad Reputation, a new documentary screening one night only at The Frida!
Joan Jett became world famous thanks to the #1 hit “I Love Rock n Roll” – but that’s just one small part of a fascinating story. Jett put in years of determination and dedication long before the fame, ripping it up onstage as the backbone of the hard-rock legends The Runaways, starting her record label out of the trunk of a car after being rejected by 23 labels, and influencing many musicians -both her cohort of punk rockers, and generations of younger bands – with her take-no-BS style.
Bad Reputation provides audiences a wild ride through a thrilling moment in music history, as amazing archival footage complements the uncompromising Jett and her close friends reflecting candidly on the burgeoning ’70s punk scene, and the rocky road to rock stardom decades on.
