Peter Strickland’s horror film In Fabric is back for a new round of encore screenings, courtesy of A24.
Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Secrets and Lies, Top of the Lake) stars as a lonely woman coming off the heels of a bad break-up. Deciding to engage in some retail therapy, she pays a visit to a bewildering London department store. There, she’s fitted with a perfectly flattering, artery-red gown — which, in time, will come to unleash a malevolent curse and unstoppable evil that threatens everyone unfortunate enough to cross its path.
A dark comedy from the auteur behind The Duke of Burgundy, In Fabric is a stylish cinematic nightmare.
“If you haven’t yet guessed, Strickland’s real terror concerns our addiction to buying things, and In Fabric goes way beyond zombies in a mall.” — Joshua Rothkopf, TimeOut
“In Fabric is weird and wonderful in the extreme.” — Emma Simmonds, Radio Times
“As funny and beautiful and troubling as anything I have seen this year.” — Robbie Collin, Daily Telegraph UK
