Jaws: 4th Street Market Free Outdoor Cinema & Film Trivia

This Wednesday at 7pm, our FREE Film Trivia & Outdoor Screenings at 4th Street Market continue with Steven Spielberg’s classic 1975 adventure thriller JAWS! Every last Wednesday of the month, The Frida Cinema takes over 4th Street Market’s back patio for a FREE movie screening under the stars, preceded by six rounds of FILM TRIVIA, with categories based (loosely!) on the film you’re about to see! Teams are limited – click here to sign up!

Based on the bestselling novel by Peter Benchley, Jaws stars Roy Scheider as Martin Brody, the police chief of idyllic New England tourist town Amity Island.  When a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping, Brody wants to close the beaches in the interest of safety—but the town’s mayor (Murray Hamilton) overrules him, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town.  As more shark attacks plague the beaches, Brody—in part driven by guilt for kowtowing to the mayor—partners up with ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and grizzled ship captain Quint (Robert Shaw) to catch the shark, and the trio embark in an epic sea battle of man vs. nature.

Trivia starts at 7pm; Film starts at 8pm! Both are FREE, and first-come, first-served – but again, if you are planning to join us for trivia, sign up your team of 6 or less at!

“When it comes to this kind of thriller, no movie has been able to top Jaws, although many have tried. And, as the years go by, it seems increasingly unlikely that anything will come close.” — James Berardinelli, ReelViews

“Robert Shaw [is] absolutely magnificent as a coarse fisherman finally hired to locate the Great White Shark; and Richard Dreyfuss, in another excellent characterization as a likeable young scientist.” — Variety

“One of the most effective thrillers ever made.” — Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
