Fall in love with Josee, The Tiger and the Fish, a new anime from first-time director Kotaru Tamura.
Tsuneo, an ordinary college student and avid diver, unexpectedly becomes the caretaker of a wheelchair-bound young woman in order to raise money for his dream of going diving in Mexico. Much to his disappointment, this young woman, who calls herself Josee after her favorite book character, is sullen and demanding. However, as Tsuneo helps Josee interact with the outside world and learns more about her unique perspective, their feelings grow into love and the two begin to support each other in ways beyond just romance.
Based on the short story of the same name by author Seiko Tanabe, Josee, The Tiger and the Fish is an animated romance filled with both heart and humor.

“An impressive debut feature. And it fulfills that most crucial function of cinema: to help us better understand the other humans, as Ebert put it, who are ‘sharing this journey (of life) with us.’“ — Matt Schley, Japan Times
