Our March Volunteer of the Month, the amazing Douglas Tran, brings you acclaimed action director Luc Besson’s Léon: The Professional!

A gritty hit-man flick set in the bowels of New York, and told with a distinctly French flair, Léon: The Professional finds 12-year-old dropout Mathilda (Natalie Portman in her feature film debut) living in a slummy apartment where she is abused by her drug-dealing father and dysfunctional family, save for her loving little brother. After her family is brutally murdered by wicked cop Stansfield (Gary Oldman, stealing the show with his brilliant over-the-top performance), Mathilda begs refuge from her quiet and secretive neighbor down the hall, Léon (veteran French actor Jean Reno) – who happens to be a “cleaner,” or professional hit man.  Seeing this as an amazing opportunity, Mathilda offers to be his assistant in exchange for training to be his protégée, so that she can ultimately exact revenge for her little brother’s death.

We will be presenting the original U.S. theatrical cut of Léon: The Professional, remastered by Sony Pictures!
