From A24 (Hereditary, The Witch) and director/co-writer Lee Cronin comes a terrifying new vision from Ireland, The Hole in the Ground.
Sarah (Seána Kerslake) and her young son Chris (James Quinn Markey) move to a new home in the Irish countryside, next to a forest that hides an enormous sinkhole. After Chris inexplicably vanishes one night, Sarah is relieved when he returns seemingly unharmed — but as his behavior grows increasingly disturbing, Sarah begins to fear that the boy who has returned may not be her son at all.
A new independent release that is already garnering favoring comparisons to Jennifer Kent’s masterful The Babadook, The Hole in the Ground is a chilling feature film debut from a new name to watch in horror cinema.

“★★★★. The Hole in the Ground could very well be Ireland’s answer to The Babadook. This changeling tale will leave you chilled.” – Kat Hughes, The Hollywood News
“★★★★. A film operating at a suspenseful, spider-like creep that allows it to skirt your defenses and get some distance under the skin.”– Mike McCahill, Guardian
“Don’t be surprised if weeks after you see this it gropes its way into your dreams.” – Charlotte O’Sullivan, London Evening Standard
