Join Nostalgic Nebula on May 30th for a one-night only screening of Zack Snyder’s Watchmen—the Director’s Cut!
We invite you to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the film adaption of Alan Moore’s 1987 limited comic series with a meeting of masked vigilantes! Come dressed as your favorite costumed hero, and enjoy themed drinks and a tribute to Phillip Glass’s Pruit Igoe and Prophesies by the Nostalgic Nebula Orchestra before the film.
Watchmen takes place in an alternate 1985 America, in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society. When a former colleague is murdered, the masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. He reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion—a ragtag group of retired superheroes. Their mission is to watch over humanity…but who is watching the Watchmen?
Don’t forget to come in costume! We’d love to see any and all superhero themed cosplay you’ve got to show us! Be sure to arrive early, as doors open at 7 p.m. and the musical tribute and film start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this special event are $15.00.
“A remarkable film, in many respects.” – David Keyes, Cinemaphile.org
“For such an epic spectacle, it’s not burdened by a lot of clutter. It’s intellectual complexity seems well-earned, not gratuitous. It’s also visually stunning.” – Brian D. Johnson, Maclean’s Magazine
“Undeniably, skillfully and wholeheartedly realized by Zack Snyder, the impossible now exists: Watchmen isn’t just a movie, it’s a great movie.” – Katherine Monk, Canada.com
