The Booksellers:
A Conversation with Sarah Rafael García, founder of LibroMobile

Watch new documentary The Booksellers, opening Friday, April 17th at The Frida via at-home streaming!  Then join us this Sunday, April 19th at 3:30pm as we talk to Sarah Rafael García, founder of Downtown Santa Ana indie bookstore LibroMobile, in a Live Stream conversation which will be hosted on our YouTube channel!

Sarah Rafael García is a local writer, community educator, and performance ethnographer. She’s the author of Las Niñas and SanTanas Fairy Tales, co-editor of pariahs writing from outside the margins and the sci-fi anthology The Latinx Archives, and is the founder of Barrio Writers and LibroMobile. Currently, she splits her time between shipping books out to loyal readers across the nation and developing an archival ethnofiction project for the life of Modesta Avila as a 2020 USLDH Mellon-Funded Grantee.

Sarah will be joining The Frida Cinema’s Executive Director Logan Crow to discuss The Booksellers, a new documentary from Greenwich Entertainment which takes viewers inside the small but fascinating world of New York rare booksellers, a diverse community whose personalities and knowledge are as broad as the materials they handle.  Populated by an assortment of obsessives, intellects, eccentrics, and dreamers, these antiquarian booksellers play an underappreciated yet essential role in preserving history.

See The Booksellers via our streaming page starting Friday, April 17th!  Our conversation with Sarah Rafael García will take place Sunday, April 19th at 3:30pm, live on our YouTube channel!
