June Music

Music Inspired by Films Screening at The Frida This June!

There’s no room for “June Gloom” with the killer films lined up at The Frida this month!

And the music featured in these films is even more off the hook! Here’s a little taste of what’s in store—five jams to get you movin’ and groovin’ from films screening The Frida this June!

“Lust For Life” by Iggy Pop.
This awesome track comes to us from Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting. The whole soundtrack is fantastic!

“You Could Be Mine” by Guns N’ Roses.
My inner 12-year-old heart still flutters when I think of Eddie Furlong riding around on a dirt bike with Axl Rose’s vocals wailing in the background. This jam comes to us from Terminator 2—one of those rare sequels that surpassed its original! T2 is just one out six Arnold Schwarzenegger classics screening at The Frida in June for Schwarzenegger Month! Don’t miss it!

“5:15” by The Who.
It’s the 40th anniversary of The Who’s 1979 film, Quadrophenia, which was inspired by their rock opera of the same name. Pete Townshend’s phenomenal soundtrack does not disappoint—here’s a little sampling for you Mods and Rockers!

“Whisper to a Scream (Zagi’s Nightmare Mix)” by Bobby Orlando.
This fun little ditty comes to us from A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge. Don’t miss your chance to see a special one-night-only screening of Freddy’s Revenge on June 29th, presented by Bombs Away—the film will be followed by a live recording of their very amusing comedy podcast!

“Psycho Killer” (Talking Heads Cover) by Alexander Gorchilin & GSH.
This unique rendition of the classic Talking Heads track comes to us from the film Leto, a film about the Soviet rock rebellion that’s set in 1980’s USSR!
