4th Street Holiday Matinee: Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

Our next DTSA Business Holiday Matinee is Miracle on 34th Street, the original 1947 classic!

A drunken man set to play Santa Claus in the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade catches the eye and umbrage of Kris Kringle. Upon lamenting this to the director of the event, Doris, she suggests Kringle himself don the white beard and red coat. After a stellar portrayal, he's hired as the Santa for Macy's 34th Street location. Here, he embodies more than just the physical appearance: his joy, honesty and warmth attract a swarm of customers to the store. But Kringle's Santa Claus isn't so magical to some, and perhaps their inability to realize the transcendent joy of Christmas spirit may be his downfall.

An instant classic since its 1947 release, Miracle on 34th Street has endured the test of time thanks to its heart-on-its-sleeve approach to human goodness and faith.

This screening is part of our DTSA Business Holiday Matinees, and requires a ticket from a participating DTSA business for admission. Check out the list of participating businesses on our Holiday Matinee page!
