The saga continues and the galaxy expands with 1980's Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back.
Luke Skywalker, slightly older but eager than ever to defeat the evil Galactic Empire, aspires to learn the ways of the Jedi from the aging master Yoda, who teaches Luke the Force with more discipline than he could ever have expected. Meanwhile, Darth Vader and his Imperial Army threaten to resurface, as rebel leader Princess Leia, the daring Han Solo, Chewbacca, and droid-duo C-3PO and R2-D2 are thrust into woes of betrayal and galactic despair.
Directed by Irvin Kershner, The Empire Strikes Back stands the test of time with astounding maturation of tone and that of its operatic, otherworldly storytelling.
