The Frida Cinema is proud to partner with community organizers, artists, businesses, and educators to provide backpacks and school supplies for kids in Santa Ana and neighboring communities. Our goal is 500 backpacks filled with school supplies, and all donations made to this campaign will support that effort!
The urgency for youth assistance and education in Santa Ana is sadly on the rise. With a poverty rate currently at 17.7%, and a declining median household income of $65,000, our community’s youth need our help more than ever. With all funds raised for this program, Tools 4 Schools — a grassroots movement that provides school supplies to the local youth in one’s community — will be putting together backpacks in anticipation of students’ return back to school this fall. These backpacks will be filled with essential school supplies, in order to equip our youth with the necessary tools to help them excel in school.
To contribute to this cause, please visit thefridacinema.kindful.com, and select Tools 4 Schools Backpack Drive under “Select a Campaign.” We thank you for brightening the lives of our community’s students with your generous contribution! Make sure to join us at the annual Tools 4 Schools fundraiser event, which will be happening at Downtown Santa Ana’s The Copper Door on June 5th, 6pm – 9:30pm with live performances, vendors, and more!
