Earlier this month, we joined cinemas across the country in doing our part to help protect our communities from exposure to COVID-19 by doing what had previously seemed impossible — voluntarily shutting down our projectors, and closing our doors. The immediately debilitating effects of this closure have led to us having to cut staff and hours dramatically, while our two remaining staff members work diligently to ensure that we are able to re-open our doors and continue programming when it is safe to do so; to identify and implement avenues to continue to enrich and entertain our communities while our doors are closed; and most importantly, to ensure that all staff members continue to have their insurance benefits covered during this unprecedented time.
In the effort to provide a fun and creative way to reward our Twitter followers who donate at least $10 to our online campaign, our Executive Director Logan Crow tweeted the following on March 19th:
Here then are some of your favorite films — celebrated through the art of the haiku!
(And please keep the donations and favorite films coming on Twitter! Donate at least $10 at thefridacinema.kindful.com, then share our twitter post (currently pinned!) with hashtag #savethefrida and the name of your favorite movie!)
