Bardo: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths Screens All Weekend

Have this article read to you, listen to it like a podcast

Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s latest masterpiece, Bardo: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths, follows a man’s introspective journey of grappling with his past, present, and identity.

Silverio Gama, an ex-journalist turned documentary filmmaker, is the first Latin American artist/reporter to receive a prestigious American journalism award. Silverio navigates life while attempting to deal with this newfound influx of attention. However, the award may actually be a secret ploy by the US government to ease tensions with Mexico over Amazon’s attempted purchase of Baja California by awarding a predominant face of Mexican culture in California.

Bardo won Iñárritu the UNIMED Award at the Venice Film Festival in 2022 and has been nominated for other awards, including the 2023 Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
