Film Club members are invited to behold the trail-blazing adventure of Henri-Georges Clouzot’s 1953 classic, The Wages of Fear.
In a run-down South American town, four men of different origins (Yves Montand, Charles Vanel, Folco Lulli, & Peter van Eyck) are paid to drive trucks loaded with nitroglycerin into the jungle through to the oil field. Friendships are tested and rivalries develop as they embark upon the perilous journey.
Winning both the Golden Bear and the Palme d’Or at the 1953 Berlin Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival, The Wages of Fear has inspired decades of cinema with its evocative, suspenseful filmmaking.
The Wages of Fear screens Sunday, September 24th.
