Tuesday Nights at the Parklet

Have this article read to you, listen to it like a podcast

With the generous support and partnership of the City of Santa Ana Arts & Culture Office, The Frida Cinema is proud to present a series of FREE outdoor events called Tuesday Nights at the Parklet. Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 4:30pm – 8:30pm, the parklet in front of The Frida will come to life with events ranging from Open Piano Nights, spoken word presentations, and more!

Join us as we partner with Kilson Street for back-to-back OPEN PIANO NIGHTS!  We’ll be rolling The Frida’s piano out to the parklet, and inviting YOU to come by and show off your ivory-tickling skills!  A sign-up sheet will be available starting at 4pm to sign up for a slot to play, and we’ll have sets by pianist Rob Rennie and saxophonist Joshua Wood in between!

Our Tuesday Nights at the Parklet series has been made possible by the generous support from the City of Santa Ana, and the Investing in the Artist grant. Understanding that artists are microbusinesses integral to the economic vitality of a city, for the past six years the City has administered the Investing in the Artist Grant, which has offered an average of $75,000 per year to qualified individual artists and nonprofit 501(c)3 arts organizations. This year, with funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), the City was able to offer $300,000 with the theme “La Cultura Cura/Art Heals.”  We look forward to activating our parklet with memorable nights of artistic expression throughout the year, and thank the City of Santa Ana for their support!
