CELEBRATING 5 YEARS OF A WORK OF ART
– ALL MONTH LONG IN AUGUST! –
This month, The Frida Cinema celebrates the 5th Anniversary of our Tribute to Art House and Cult Cinema Lobby Mural! Designed by artist Trace Mendoza, and painted over four weeks in July-August 2018 by Trace Mendoza and fellow artist Ry Beloin, our beautiful mural continues to add a sense of cinematic whimsy for our community of fellow cinephiles, serving as a striking visual encapsulation of the celebration of cinema reflected in our programming. Join us through August for our Mural Month film series, which brings twelve of the forty-seven films represented in our mural back on the big screen at The Frida! Plus, swing by to see our Mural Month Art Show, featuring over a dozen new works celebrating films featured on our mural, opening as part of this month’s DTSA First Saturday ArtWalk, and staying up through August! And don’t miss our August 23rd screening of E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, where we’ll be welcoming Trace Mendoza back to The Frida to celebrate 5 Years of his work of art!
