Our Segerstrom at The Frida series, in partnership with Segerstrom Center for the Arts, continues with Ang Lee’s 2012 adventure Life of Pi!
Based on the novel of the same name by Yann Martel, Life of Pi follows Piscine “Pi” Patel, a young boy whose family decides to leave their native India for Canada. When the ship they are traveling on sinks, he escapes by climbing onto a lifeboat also boarded by an orangutan, a zebra, a hyena, and a tiger. The lone survivor of this horrible accident, Pi is forced to contend with the wild animals on the boat as it sails across the Pacific Ocean.
This special screening is part of our Segerstrom at The Frida film series, every Thursday at 7:30PM in August, and presenting films that have been adapted into musicals/plays that will soon be taking the stage at Costa Mesa’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts!
