Anime Expo Cinema Nights presents the classic anime Ninja Scroll’s 30th anniversary with an all-new exclusive interview with director Yoshiaki Kawajiri!

Set in feudal Japan, the story follows Jubei Kibagami, a wandering swordsman who becomes entangled in a deadly conspiracy involving a group of supernatural ninjas known as the Eight Devils of Kimon. After saving a female ninja named Kagero, Jubei is coerced by a mysterious government spy into battling the Devils to prevent them from overthrowing the shogunate.

Renowned for its stunning animation, intense action sequences, and its blend of historical fantasy with dark, mature themes, Ninja Scroll remains a landmark in anime, influencing many subsequent works in the genre.

This screening will be presented dubbed into English.
