Our friends at GKIDS are presenting a brand new 4K restoration of the fantastic Italian sendup of Fantastia, Allegro Non Troppo!

An enterprising producer believes he has hit upon a winning concept: a program of original animated shorts set to classical music. Undeterred by warnings that this has already been done by an American named ‘Prisney,’ he rallies an orchestra of geriatric women, a bullish conductor, and an animator that he keeps locked in the dungeon. What could go wrong?

From evolution gone haywire to a lonely cat navigating a decaying world, Allegro Non Troppo swings between absurd comedy and quiet melancholy, all wrapped in inventive, boundary-pushing animation.

Mars, an animated feature film by the cult comedy troupe, The Whitest Kids U’Know, is having its long-awaited theatrical release, and we’re playing it!

The movie revolves around Kyle, who enters a contest to go to Mars only half seriously, since he’s getting married in a few days. When he wins, he decides to ditch his wedding to escape to the red planet. This would all be great for him except the luxury accommodations are a facade, his shipmates are insane, and the crew gets stranded on Mars with no way home.

Mars was conceived during the production of the original sketch series, often held in the same high regard as “Saturday Night Live,” “Kids in the Hall” and “SCTV.” Thanks to a booming fanbase on Twitch, the troupe was able to crowdfund the animated film’s budget and commence production. Come see it on the big screen with like-minded fans!

We heard your voices! Or more specifically…we heard one person’s voice that’s been asking us to play Monkeybone every month for the past few years. And now it’s time to celebrate 25 years of Henry Selick’s cult classic!

After a car crash sends repressed cartoonist Stu into a coma, he and the mischievous Monkeybone, his hilarious alter-ego, wake up in a wacked-out waystation for lost souls. When Monkeybone takes over Stu’s body and escapes to wreak havoc on the real world, Stu has to find a way to stop him before his sister pulls the plug on reality forever!

Upon release, Monkeybone was considered a commercial and critical failure. Audiences didn’t know what to make of its surreal blend of live action, stop-motion animation, adult humor, grim fantasy–the list goes on and on. But over time, that same strangeness became its appeal. Fans of “how did a major studio make this?” type of films should be lining up around the block for this one.
