Join us for a night of solidarity and Kaiju-filled action with a special double feature showing of Showa Era Godzilla films! Hosted by OC Protests in collaboration with OCRNN, “Godzilla Invades Santa Ana” is a fundraising event that seeks to support mutual aid efforts and address the pressing challenges faced by undocumented and underserved families in Anaheim and Santa Ana.

Doors open at 6:00PM with the first film will begin at 7:30PM, giving you plenty of time to shop with local vendors including T_Crux, Discos Monarca, and OCProtests, who will be selling event-specific merchandise, including shirts and stickers! You can also use this time to inquire about supporting and volunteering with your local mutual aid efforts!

Tickets to this special event are $20. One ticket gets you access to both films and a raffle ticket for Angels Baseball Suite Tickets (more can be purchased during the event). There will be a 15 minute intermission between each film for local leaders to share words of solidarity with the community! Frida Cinema memberships and comp passes do not apply.

Godzilla vs. Hedorah: Intended to address the crisis levels of pollution in postwar Japan, Godzilla vs. Hedorah finds the King of the Monsters fighting an alien life form that arrives on Earth and steadily grows by feeding on industrial waste. Director Yoshimitsu Banno infuses the film with equal parts ecological horror, humorous monster antics, and sixties psychedelia straight out of San Francisco, making for a truly unique—and divisive—entry in the series.

Godzilla vs. Megalon: Nuclear testing unleashes mayhem on the undersea kingdom of Seatopia, causing a series of environmental disasters that nearly wipes out Rokuro, the schoolboy protagonist at the center of this film. To exact revenge, Seatopia unleashes Megalon, a gigantic beetle with the ability to fire ray beams and napalm bombs. Meanwhile, Rokuro’s brother creates Jet Jaguar, a flying robot with a built-in moral compass. The inevitable matchup of Godzilla and Jet Jaguar versus Megalon and Gigan decides the world’s fate.
