Celebrate 100 Years of Buster Keaton’s comedy masterpiece The General courtesy of our friends at flickrhappy! And as an added bonus, acclaimed musician and film composer Cliff Retallick will be doing live accompaniment along with the film!

After being rejected by the Confederate military, not realizing it was due to his crucial civilian role, an engineer must single-handedly recapture his beloved locomotive after it is seized by Union spies and return it through enemy lines.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest comedies (and greatest films overall) ever made, this silent-era masterpiece is a dazzling showcase of Keaton’s breathtaking stunts and ingenious physical comedy. Ranked #18 on both the American Film Institute’s 100 Years…100 Movies (10th Anniversary Edition) and 100 Years…100 Laughs lists, it remains every bit as thrilling, hilarious, and astonishing as ever.
