New York has changed. The art of stealing hasn’t.
A love letter to the Big Apple’s grittier corners, The Only Living Pickpocket in New York is a new crime drama from writer-director Noah Segan, starring John Turturro alongside Giancarlo Esposito, Steve Buscemi, Tatiana Maslany, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Harry Lehman is an aging pickpocket who plies his trade with ever-diminishing returns in a drastically changed New York. Wallets stuffed with cash have been replaced by easily cancelled credit cards, and Harry struggles to make ends meet as he cares for his disabled wife, Rosie. When he unwittingly purloins and fences a valuable USB stick, Harry finds himself in a race against time to return the loot or face the rage of a vengeful crime family.
With early acclaim for Turturro’s soulful performance and its portrait of a vanishing New York, The Only Living Pickpocket in New York brings old-school crime-movie cool to a city that never stops changing. Catch this acclaimed indie thriller on the big screen at The Frida Cinema!
