Join us for a one-night-only screening of 2018 neo-noir crime thriller Destroyer, followed by an in-person discussion with the film’s director, Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body, The Invitation, Girlfight, TV’s Yellowjackets), and author Marya E Gates, in celebration of her new book Cinema Her Way: Visionary Female Directors in Their Own Words.
Destroyer follows Erin Bell (Nicole Kidman), a deeply troubled LAPD detective who spends her days haunted by an undercover operation that went horribly wrong. As she confronts both her past and the destructive choices she’s made, her journey unfolds through a fractured narrative that reveals the physical and emotional toll of her choices, and the deeply complex nature of guilt and justice.
