DEATH BECOMES HER: Meryl Streep

February 3 @ 11:00 pm

From the intentionally oh-so-tacky opening song number to the gleefully grotesque last shot, Robert Zemeckis’ 1992 Oscar-winning camp classic DEATH BECOMES HER showcased the comic chops of an actress mostly known for her powerful dramatic roles in tearjerkers like Kramer vs. Kramer and Sophie’s Choice, with Meryl Streep giving us one of her most cherished characters – that of (say it with me) “…Madeline…Ashton…”

In this bizarre dark comedy, two bitter rivals (Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn) are given a chance at eternal youth by the mysterious Lisle von Rhoman (Isabella Rossellini). Featuring Bruce Willis as a handsome pawn in the world’s pettiest chess game, this film pits immortal diva against immortal diva with absolutely disastrous results! Directed by the legendary Robert Zemeckis, this film is not only the height of occult posthuman witchy bitchery, but an absolute visual treat featuring Oscar-winning special effects!

Come dressed as your favorite Dead Celebrity and we’ll hook you up with a free large soft drink, PLUS enter you into a drawing for a chance to win a six-film Frida Cinema Punch Card – good for six free movies at The Frida!

Dir. Robert Zemeckis, 104 min., 1992, USA
