Richard Donner’s supernatural horror classic turns a seemingly perfect family into the center of an apocalyptic nightmare, elevated by Jerry Goldsmith’s Oscar-winning score, an unforgettable performance by Peck, and some of the most infamous death scenes in horror history. A massive box-office success that spawned sequels, a remake, and decades of imitators, The Omen remains one of the defining horror films of the 1970s.

A Lovecraftian and meta-cinematic mind warp, Carpenter’s cult classic is a supremely underrated descent into cosmic terror that also contains another one of his all-timer synth scores.

Jealousy and violence take center stage in Insiang, our Members Only screening for October 2026, celebrating Filipino American History Month.

This claustrophobic melo­drama, a tautly constructed character study set in the slums of Manila. Lino Brocka crafts an eviscerating portrait of an innocent daughter and her bitter mother as women scorned. Insiang leads a quiet life dominated by household duties, but after she is raped by her mother’s lover and abandoned by the young man who claims to care for her, she exacts vicious revenge. A savage commentary on the degradations of urban poverty, especially for women, Insiang was the first Philippine film ever to play at Cannes.

Insiang was restored by the Cineteca di Bologna/ L’Immagine Ritrovata. Restoration funded by The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project and the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

Trash-Mex is back at The Frida Cinema to present the Mexican horror classic Hasta el viento tiene meido aka Even The Wind is Afraid!

A group of college students, led by Claudia, decide to investigate a local tower that has figured prominently in disturbing reoccurring dreams Claudia has been having. They are suspended from school for their antics, but Claudia learns from one of the female staff members that the person in the dream is a student who killed herself years before and that the headmistress has seen her ghost.

Invoking Dario Argento’s Suspiria and the works of Mario Bava, Even The Wind is Afraid is a Mexican horror film draped in macabre moods and stunning Gothic ambience. Any appetite for genuine chills will be sated in full!
