Bring Her Back

Our A24orror series comes to a very spooky conclusion with Bring Her Back, a disturbing descent into psychological dread from directors Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou (Talk To Me).

Bring Her Back tells the story of a brother and sister that uncover a terrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster mother. With another great performance from Sally Hawkins and a number of horrifying sequences, it’ll have you thinking long after you’ve left the theater.

Brace yourself for a haunting you won’t forget.

Aftersun

Charlotte Wells’ quietly devastating debut masterpiece, Aftersun, is returning to The Frida Cinema for a special 2-day run for Father’s Day weekend.

An 11-year-old girl named Sophie (Frankie Corio) spends a summer holiday at a Turkish resort with her father, Calum (Paul Mescal)—a man young in years but carrying invisible burdens. Seen through Sophie’s sunlit, inquisitive eyes, the trip is tender and ordinary: poolside games, shared meals, camcorder footage, karaoke, and fleeting glimpses of adult sadness she doesn’t yet understand.

Aftersun is more than a coming-of-age story. It’s also a haunting act of remembrance.

Before Sunrise

One night. One city. One endless conversation. We continue our recurring June 16th celebration with yet another screening of Before Sunrise, now celebrating 30 years since its release!

On a train bound for Vienna, two strangers—Jesse (Ethan Hawke), a restless American backpacker, and Céline (Julie Delpy), a thoughtful French student—strike up a casual conversation that quickly deepens into something electric. Jesse, impulsive and charming, persuades Céline to get off the train with him and wander the city until his flight leaves the next morning.

Over the course of one night, they talk, laugh, debate, and flirt as they walk the cobblestone streets, share glances by the Danube, and explore the edges of intimacy. With no promise of a future, they make the present infinite.
