A24 invites you to experience The Legend Of Ochi, a world where mysterious creatures, myths, and adventures await!

In a remote village on the island of Carpathia, a shy farm girl named Yuri is raised to fear an elusive animal species known as ochi. But when Yuri discovers a wounded baby ochi has been left behind, she escapes on a quest to bring him home.

This is a see-it-on-the-biggest-screen-you-can-find-and-bring-the-whole-family kind of movie. Every frame is a painting. Every moment pulses with emotion. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll even get to see another great Willem Dafoe performance! Fans of old school Amblin, Jim Henson, and Studio Ghibli will have a great time.

Solaris

Closing out our Andrei Tarkovsky Retrospective is Solaris, one of cinema’s most renowned and thought-provoking sci-fi masterpieces.

Based on the novel by Stanisław Lem, Solaris is set on a distant planet where a research station has been established to study a mysterious ocean that covers the planet’s surface. The film follows psychologist Kris Kelvin, who is sent to the station to investigate the strange occurrences happening among the crew members. As the ocean’s inexplicable powers begin to manifest, the crew members are confronted with physical manifestations of their deepest memories and regrets—projections of their pasts that challenge the boundaries of reality, identity, and the human psyche.

Upon its release, Solaris was met with critical acclaim for its intellectual depth and emotional resonance, distinguishing itself from other science fiction films of the era. It was widely praised for its psychological depth and is often cited as one of the greatest sci-fi films of all time. Solaris was also recognized at the 1972 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize. In Tarkovsky’s hands, the genre becomes a platform for profound philosophical inquiry, making Solaris a timeless exploration of the human experience, the fragility of the mind, and the mysteries of existence.

Wolf Children (Subtitled)

Our friends at GKIDS are bringing back the 2012 Mamoru Hosoda (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Mirai) film Wolf Children, now restored in glorious 4K!

A luminous coming-of-age fable with a quietly devastating emotional core, Wolf Children is a triumph of animated storytelling. This bittersweet fantasy follows a young mother raising her half-wolf children in the wake of loss—balancing the wonder of childhood with the ache of letting go. Gently surreal and deeply human, it’s a film about love, resilience, and the wild, unknowable paths we all must take to become ourselves.

This film will be presented in its original Japanese language with English subtitles.

We're All Gonna Die + Pre-Recorded Intro by Matthew Arnold & Freddie Wong

Join us for the new Sci Fi indie flick We’re All Gonna Die, preceded by a pre-recorded introduction from directors Matthew Arnold & Freddie Wong!

In the near future, the “Spike,” a 10,000 mile tall indestructible floating alien tentacle materializes in Earth’s upper atmosphere, causing everybody to freak out. By now, though, everyone’s gotten used to it. But after the Spike teleports a struggling beekeeper’s beehives and a grieving wanderer’s prized car halfway across the country, these two strangers must join together and take a dangerous roadtrip across a changed (but recognizable) America to get their stuff back.

Hung Up on a Dream

For one night only, experience the untold story of one of the most quietly revolutionary bands of the British Invasion. Hung Up On A Dream is a time-traveling journey through the music, memories, and magic of The Zombies—a band whose shimmering harmonies and baroque pop brilliance gave us Time of the Season, She’s Not There, and the immortal Odessey and Oracle.

Directed by musician and filmmaker Robert Schwartzman, this deeply personal documentary blends rare archival footage, intimate new interviews, and vivid visual storytelling to explore how a group of teenagers from St. Albans crafted songs that still sound ahead of their time. It’s a love letter to resilience, creativity, and the strange, beautiful alchemy of a band that never quite fit the mold—but changed music anyway.
